Golf Outing to Benefit The Burn Center at Saint Barnabas Medical Center

Livingston, N.J. –Members of the New Jersey Association of Fire Equipment Distributors (NJAFED) have announced the 2008 date for their Third Annual Golf Outing to benefit the Saint Barnabas Burn Foundation.  The outing will take place on Monday, September 8, 2008, at Beacon Hill Country Club in Atlantic Highlands, NJ.

NJAFED is a not for profit organization that utilizes its fund raisings towards further educating and lobbying to improve the economic environment, business performance, and technical competence in the fire protection and fire safety industry.

“As part of NJAFED’s commitment to bring knowledge to the fire protection industry and to the residents of New Jersey, we have selected the Saint Barnabas Burn Foundation as the beneficiary if this year’s golf outing,” explains James Newell, president of The NJAFED Board of Trustees.  “The Burn Foundation has been providing fire safety and burn prevention education programs to school children, businesses, community organizations, health care professionals and fire service personnel across the state for more than 20 years.”

As the educational, research and fundraising arm of The Burn Center at Saint Barnabas in Livingston, NJ, the state’s only certified burn treatment center, the Burn Foundation devotes particular attention to the more vulnerable segments of the population, namely children and seniors, as well as providing ongoing support to our dedicated partners in burn prevention – New Jersey’s 7,313 career and 32,531 volunteer firefighters.  Annually the Saint Barnabas Burn Foundation and The Burn Center touch the lives of over 34,000 individuals through either direct patient care or prevention and education programs.
